KUWAIT CITY (Pakistan Point News - 26th July 2026) There have been reports that Kuwait has officially approved an important defense cooperation agreement with Pakistan. In this regard, journalist Wasim Abbasi, associated with Arab News, said in a message on X that Kuwait has officially approved the published details of the defense cooperation agreement with Pakistan, which was signed in 2023. Today, Kuwait has published its details in its official gazette.
He said that under the agreement, the two countries will exchange mutual training, information and intelligence. In addition, scientific and technical cooperation between the two countries will be promoted. Pakistan and Kuwait will also exchange personnel and technical experts in various fields. However, this agreement is not new, but its details were published by Kuwait today.
Kuwaiti media reported that the path has been paved to further expand cooperation between the two countries in the military and security sectors. In this regard, a decree-law has been issued under which the Defense Cooperation Agreement signed in Kuwait on June 11, 2023, was ratified. This decree was published in the latest issue of Kuwait's official gazette "Kuwait Al-Youm".
It has been reported that under the agreement, a comprehensive framework will be established for further strengthening defense relations between Pakistan and Kuwait, increasing mutual trust and cooperation in various military fields. The aim of this cooperation is to promote military training, military education, contacts between the armed forces, exchange of professional skills and enhancement of defense capabilities. It will be implemented in accordance with the relevant laws, regulations and international obligations of both countries.
It is learnt that the scope of the agreement will include military training and education programs, logistical cooperation, exchange of military personnel, technical experts and specialists in specialized fields, scientific and technical cooperation, exchange of information related to military intelligence and other areas that the two countries will mutually agree on in the future. For the effective implementation of this agreement, the two countries will prepare joint executive protocols and practical programs every year so that cooperation can be taken forward in a systematic manner.
It was also agreed in the agreement that exchanges of official delegations at various levels between Pakistan and Kuwait will be promoted so that the links between the defense institutions can be further strengthened and progress on joint projects can be reviewed. Under the same objective, a joint military committee will also be established which will be responsible for monitoring the implementation of the agreement and coordinating various defense activities. This committee will consist of representatives nominated by the defense ministers of both countries and will hold a meeting at least once a year.
