Emirates Airlines offers students reduced fares and extra baggage allowance

Students will also get up to 10 percent discount on economy class fares and the facility to change flights

Abu Dhabi (Gulfnews Newspaper Latest) Emirates Airlines of the United Arab Emirates has offered students a reduction in fares and the facility to carry extra baggage. According to the media, students on Emirates Airlines will get up to 10 percent discount on economy class fares and the facility to change flights. Students aged 16 to 31 will be able to get up to 10 percent discount on Emirates economy class fares.

Students will also be able to get the facility to change flights. This offer of the airline will be applicable to students traveling for education or holidays to more than 140 destinations, for such students, bookings made by March 31, 2027 using the promotional code STUDENT are included. Under the offer, Economy Class students can save up to 10%, while Premium Economy and Business Class passengers can save up to 5% on eligible fares.

On the other hand, according to the Emirates News Agency WAM, Emirates has officially introduced Crypto.com Pay™, through which customers will be able to make digital payments on the airline’s website and app. Customers with a Crypto.com account can now select Crypto.com Pay™ at the payment stage when booking tickets on emirates.com and the Emirates App. Payment will be completed securely and in accordance with UAE regulatory standards.

The facility is available to eligible UAE residents on bookings priced and paid in Emirati dirhams (AED). This development is part of the implementation of the partnership agreement signed between Crypto.com and Emirates in July 2025, under which a Memorandum of Understanding was signed to explore the possibility of incorporating Crypto.com Pay™ into the airline’s digital payment system.

“The implementation of this initiative is a further step in our commitment to providing our customers with more payment options for their travel,” said Adnan Kazim, Emirates’ Vice President and Chief Commercial Officer. “It also reflects the rapidly changing preferences of a new, digitally-savvy generation that manages their finances and plans their travel primarily through their mobile phones, and expects airlines to follow suit.”

He said that moving from agreement to launch in just one year is a testament to the hard work of both teams and the regulatory environment that has enabled this kind of innovation, which reflects the UAE and Dubai’s commitment to leading the way in fintech and the digital economy. The integration is being facilitated by Dubai-based Crypto.com, the first Virtual Asset Service Provider (VASP) to receive a Stored Value Facilities (SVF) license from the Central Bank of the UAE and operates under the SVF framework.

Crypto.com Pay™ will be available as a payment option on emirates.com and the Emirates App at the checkout stage during booking. Customers booking via the Emirates App on mobile will be redirected to the Crypto.com App to complete payment, where they will pay from their wallet, after which they will be returned to the Emirates App, where they will receive a booking confirmation and e-ticket.

Customers booking on emirates.com on desktop will select Crypto.com Pay™ at the checkout stage, then scan the QR code on the booking page to approve the payment in their Crypto.com App. Once the payment is approved, a booking confirmation and e-ticket will be issued on their screen. The initiative supports Dubai’s Cashless Strategy under the D33 Economic Agenda, which aims to digitalize 90% of financial transactions in the public and private sectors by the end of 2026. It also builds on the Emirates’ partnership with Dubai Finance last year to promote digital payments, while Crypto.com has also partnered with Dubai Finance to facilitate digital payments for government services.
